Soft creams, beige hues, and light wood accents shape the foundation of this modern contemporary 4-room HDB home, creating a space that feels inviting, balanced, and beautifully refined. The tonal consistency flows throughout the space, from the communal area to the travertine-clad bathrooms, creating a seamless visual harmony.
Once enclosed, the kitchen was opened up to accommodate a generous waterfall island — now the heart of the home and an anchor for hosting and everyday living. Beside it, the living room features a sleek TV feature wall with a built-in console, presenting a clean, understated backdrop. Adjacent to the living room, the study is enclosed in glass and framed with subtle wood detailing, offering privacy without sacrificing openness.
In the master bedroom, thoughtful built-in features elevate both function and form. A vanity is seamlessly integrated into the side of the wardrobe, maintaining an uncluttered silhouette. The bedside table, cleverly concealed within the wardrobe structure, keeps essentials tucked away and preserves the room’s streamlined tranquillity.
This modern contemporary home is defined by purposeful design and quiet refinement, yet alive with the warmth and activity of daily life.
The homeowners wanted a home that is not only aesthetic, but also catered to their daily lifestyle needs. Sleek carpentry hides the household shelter from view, while specific built-ins, such as a pull-out ironing board and niches for laundry baskets, were added to the service yard.
For a better flow in the communal area, the interior designer hacked a common bedroom so that the living room can be placed beside the open kitchen. The study was then placed where the living room originally was.
Every corner of the home reflects thoughtful design. The TV and console were neatly integrated into the feature wall to minimise visual bulk, while bathroom doorways were intentionally adjusted to accommodate a standard-depth vanity that does not obstruct the bathroom entrance. The master bathroom also features a pocket sliding door that neatly tucks into the back of the wardrobe when opened.
As the homeowners had specific materials and colours in mind for their home that revolved around a off-white, cream tone, the interior designer selected cool white lighting to balance the warmth in the home.
The result is a home that balances unmistakable warmth with a clean, linear aesthetic.
