Designed for a couple with two young children, this new condominium was approached with a light touch. With the developer’s original built-ins retained, the design became less about reinvention and more about refinement. This included adding storage and wall and feature details that give the home more depth and interest.
Neutral tones set a calm base, anchored by darker accents that bring definition to the communal areas. In the living space, a gently curved TV feature wall conceals wiring and storage while maintaining a slim profile along the walkway. Fluted detailing in the dining area and patterned tiles along the corridor create visual moments as one moves through the home. Layered lighting, from cove details to concealed LEDs, softens transitions and enhances the sense of space.
The study now features a full-height glass display, combining storage with a dedicated space for the husband’s extensive Lego collection. In the master bedroom, warm wood panels are paired with a hand-plastered feature wall and subtle lighting to add texture and create a restful atmosphere.
Designing this home started with working within the existing layout and colour palette. With the original built-ins kept, our interior designer focused on changes that felt purposeful. Curves, wall and feature details, and layered lighting were used to make the spaces feel more inviting and visually engaging without adding clutter.
Storage was integrated where it was needed most, while display areas, including the study wall highlighting the husband’s Lego collection, added a personal touch. The home is both practical and personal, with design touches that support daily routines while bringing subtle character to every corner.
