Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood in the East, this tranquil dwelling embodies the essence of Scandinavian design — soft, understated, and inherently inviting. Guided by a philosophy of simplicity and function, the interior adopts a palette of soothing neutrals and gentle curves that lend fluidity and visual ease to the space. The open-plan layout enhances both functionality and flow, anchored by a kitchen island that fosters connection and encourages conversation. Clad in all-white cabinetry, the kitchen carries a clean and pristine look. The marble-grained backsplash adds texture and depth, while gold detailings introduce a subtle touch of sophistication.
The dining area is anchored by a rattan pendant light that infuses an organic feel, complementing the soft lines and minimalist aesthetic. Herringbone flooring extends throughout the communal spaces, adding tactile warmth and complementing the serene tonal scheme. In the living room, the curved cove lighting feature takes centre stage — a sculptural element that subtly elevates the minimalist nature of the home with depth and dimension. The bathrooms and master bedroom continue the home’s understated charm, with sleek lines that maintain a clean and clutter-free appeal. Every curve, light, and texture was carefully selected to evoke harmony; a sanctuary where Scandinavian design characteristics meet everyday comfort.
The homeowners envisioned a home that felt calm, open and timeless – one that reflected the simplicity and comfort of Scandinavian living. With that in mind, the design direction leaned towards a Scandinavian palette that focuses on clean lines, neutral tones and a sense of openness. Curves were introduced in most parts of the home to soften the overall look and bring a modern touch that’s both on-trend and enduring. To create a more spacious and connected communal area, one of the bedroom walls was hacked down; allowing the living, dining and kitchen zones to flow seamlessly into one another. This not only enhanced natural light and spatial flow but also cultivated a stronger sense of openness at the heart of the home. Every element from the curved lighting feature to the subtle play of textures was thoughtfully considered to achieve a home that feels deeply comforting and balanced.
