An Enthralling Sanctuary With Its Very Own Home Library

Rooted in clean lines and lustrous marble, the Mid-Century Modern interior design of this lavish abode fuses warm wood tones with vibrant decorative touches for a balanced palette that is brimming with character. Taking centrestage – a home library with a remarkable display of books and artistic décor pieces marks it as a tranquil haven for avid readers. Leading into the kitchen area, a peninsular bar counter stands directly across the dining area, allowing ease of interaction among family and guests. Black framed glass door and diamond patterned tiles segregates the kitchen from the main communal space. A refined blend of marble countertop against sage green cabinetry adds a fresh pop of colour into the kitchen, a contrast from the monochromatic patterned floor tiles.

The bright and airy atmosphere of the master bedroom exudes an air of tranquility. A unique grill feature sits atop the bedhead, adding a touch of industrial into the space. Beyond the bed, a platform sits partially hidden from view – a private working station for the homeowners. The en-suite bathroom, with its double vanity and marble tiled walls, speaks of a hotel-like luxury.

Interior Designer’s Thoughts

The homeowners requested a Mid-Century Modern home interior that would blend well with their wooden furniture taken from their previous home and art pieces that they have collected from their travels. To showcase their personal taste and character in their home, the interior designer suggested using a variation of deep neutral shades and textures to complement the bold and bright Balinese and North African inspired art pieces. The homeowners emphasised on having a home library as one of the key features of their home – to build a love of reading for their two young children. To maximise the spacious interior and high ceilings, full height carpentry was built throughout the home.
