Inside A Cosy And Vibrant Dwelling That Sparks Joy In Every Corner

A striking melange of exuberant colours, playful furnishings and splashes of Terrazzo forms the foundation of this enthralling Scandinavian Bohemian dwelling. Upon entry to the open communal area, a cosy and inviting atmosphere is instantaneously felt. Neutral based textiles and furnishings set the tone of the living room, highlighting a sense of calmness and quietude which separates itself from the rest of the home. The classic arched display feature wall draws the eye up, exhibiting a curated line of decor pieces. Touches of Bohemian elements are reflected using rattan pendant lights above the curved dining table. The open plan layout fosters ease of interaction and movement with connectivity from the kitchen to the living room. At the heart of the home, deep green cabinets paired with Terrazzo backsplash accentuates a jovial character to the space. Staying true to the theme of the home, the bathroom interior emulates a similar concept of the half height design using Terrazzo and neutral undertones, complemented with gold accents for a polished appearance. The blissful sanctuary of the master bedroom is imbued with an incredibly warm and serene ambience, cloaked with harmonious earthy shades of forest green and walnut wood tones.

Interior Designer’s Thoughts

The homeowners requested for a Scandinavian Bohemian interior style with a consistent theme of Terrazzo patterns in different areas of their home. An open-concept plan was proposed as they often host gatherings with loved ones and it also facilitates ease of movement for their pet cats. Wall mounted cat steps were built next to the TV console to maximise the space for their cats and doubles up as a platform deck to seamlessly hide electrical wires. One of the common bedrooms was converted into a spacious home office with a glass sliding door to create separation between the spaces. The interior designers suggested having wall paint on the horizon specifically in the living room to create visual continuity from the half height wall of the home office. This design concept can also be seen in the bathrooms with the use of neutral and Terrazzo tiles. As the homeowners were keen on having an arched niche display, a partition wall was built such that it levels evenly with the adjacent wall. The rattan finishes on the fixtures were integrated to showcase Bohemian elements.
