A Symphony of Colours and Character

This Modern Eclectic three-bedroom home is designed as a relaxing retreat for a family of three and their helper — a place where colour, light and everyday rituals come together with quiet ease. Soft blush and powder-blue tones create a soothing backdrop throughout the home that feels uplifting and inspiring. Pops of colour and industrial materials subtly energise the communal zones, exuding a charming appeal.

Thoughtful layout tweaks add both function and character. An additional door to the helper’s room doubles as a display wall for vinyl records, turning a simple passage into a personal feature. One of the bedrooms has been reconfigured into a flexible study and guest room, accented with richer colours where a concealed Murphy bed keeps the room open by day and cosy by night. In the living area, built-in cabinetry and a dedicated spot for the keyboard make room for both play and music. Blue-toned backsplash tiles bring visual interest to the pantry, while warm hybrid vinyl flooring ties the spaces together with a soft, natural feel.

A glow-in-the-dark star wallpaper adds a touch of magic to the son’s bedroom, paired with a bunk bed that leaves space to play and grow. In the master bedroom, pink linen wall finishes soften the space, creating a restful corner to unwind at the end of the day. Every corner of the home sparks creativity with colours and personal collections, gently framing the rhythms of family life.

Interior Designer’s Thoughts

This home was conceived around the homeowners’ passion for board games and music, with spatial efficiency guiding every design decision. Custom mild steel shelving was specified for structural integrity to support heavier board game collections, while integrated display and concealed storage were carefully layered to maintain visual order. A soft chromatic palette of blush pinks and muted blues was selected to evoke calm and positivity, complemented by hybrid vinyl flooring to unify the open-plan living, dining and pantry zones.

The existing layout was minimally altered to enhance functionality, introducing an additional access point to the helper’s room that doubles as a vinyl display feature. A flexible study was designed with a concealed Murphy bed to accommodate guests, drawing from Bauhaus principles through bold colour accents and clean geometry. In the private zones, the son’s bedroom integrates a glowing wallpaper and a bunk system to maximise play and storage, while the master suite adopts textured pink linen wall finishes to create a layered, restorative retreat.
