Eschewing The Bold And Embracing The Simple

Boasting a timeless amalgam of pale wood and relaxed furnishing, this tranquil haven’s Scandinavian interior design is the epitome of functionality. Eschewing the bold and embracing the simple, a marriage of neutral colours and subtle textures evokes a feeling of ease. An endless stream of natural light floods into the space, elegantly diffused by timber venetian blinds. Clad in muted hues and embellished with grey herringbone tiling, the spacious living room is an oasis of comfort. Partitioned by seamless glass panels and lined with sleek cabinetry, the office creates a pocket of privacy for utmost productivity. Geometric fragments of grey, pink and white form a mesmerising feature wall in the master bedroom, immaculately complementing its understated nature.

Interior Designer’s Thoughts

The homeowner has always been a fan of Scandinavian interior design, particularly for its functionality and warmth. The interior designer opted for a ‘less is more’ approach, sticking to a light palette and wooden textures. Inventive carpentry was another key design component, like the concealed bomb shelter with a designated spot underneath for a robot vacuum.

Segregation of the different areas in the communal space was requested, but the homeowner wanted to retain its capaciousness and connectivity. The interior designer made use of glass panels to separate the office and kitchen from the other rooms, creating just enough segregation without disrupting the open flow of the home.
