Scandi-Minimalist Sanctuary Pays Homage To Apple Store Concept With A Japandi Charm – Scandinavian Interior Design
This minimalist Scandinavian sanctuary centers around simplicity and utility where less is more. Inspired by the Apple store concept with a hint of Muji, pristine cotton white splashes the canvas of the home while subtle touches of beige woody accents adds a layer of warmth on top of the sterile setting in this Scandinavian interior design. Streamlined white space in this nordic home takes a leaf out of Apple store interior while the Muji-inspired grainy wood elements embedded in the TV and bedhead feature walls and the ceiling fan grounds the warm Scandinavian look to prevent the home from looking too cold and clinical. The liberating sense of sheer spaciousness is attributed to the open concept layout in the communal area formed by the living room, high chair dining and the kitchen where the common space is pared down to their essential form and function. Subtle gold accents occasionally pepper the corners of the home to add a hint of liveliness that complements the chalky white background. The idyllic bedhead feature wall invites natural light to organically brighten up the living space.
Interior Designer’s Thoughts
The challenge of transforming this 4RM HDB resale flat is the awkward curved window. With a full-height black framed window facing the entrance of the home, it becomes the main obstacle in the process of achieving the dream home that the homeowners desire. Thus, our interior designer proposed the idea of using the TV console cum feature wall as a dividing partition between the master bedroom and the living room area in order to keep the window out of sight. The high chair dining doubles as a workspace where the seat overlooks the window. A customised bedhead feature frame wall was created to block half the windows, creating a cosy bay-window in the master bedroom. Notice the hingeless and knob-less doors? Frameless pivot doors complete the seamless homogenous design in this minimalist scandinavian interior design.
